What is Xiang Shu

Xiang Shu (相术) is the art of reading destiny through direct observation of physical form. Unlike destiny arts that require birth data, Xiang Shu reads what is visible in front of you. It includes face reading, palm reading, body reading, and environmental reading (Feng Shui).

Face Reading (面相)

Face reading examines the features of the face to reveal character, fortune and destiny. The face is divided into three zones corresponding to youth, middle age and old age. Each feature governs a specific life area: the nose governs wealth, the eyes reveal willpower, the mouth governs communication and love. Chinese face reading is over 2000 years old and remains one of the most sophisticated systems of physiognomy in the world.

Palm Reading (手相)

Palm reading examines the lines, shapes, mounts and colors of the hands. The three main lines - Life Line, Head Line and Heart Line - govern health, intelligence and emotions respectively. Hand shape corresponds to one of the five elements. Both hands are read together for a complete picture. Palm reading is accessible to beginners while offering deep readings to masters.

Feng Shui (堪舆)

Feng Shui, literally meaning wind and water, is the art of harmonizing with the energy of the environment. It examines the layout of buildings, homes, offices and graves to optimize the flow of qi (energy). Originally used for grave selection, it evolved to include all human-built spaces. Feng Shui is not superstition - it is the science of environmental psychology expressed through an ancient lens.

Body Reading (体相)

Body reading examines posture, gait, build and physical presence. A confident walk, a strong voice, a steady gaze - all carry information about character and fortune. Body reading is less systematized than face or palm reading but remains an important component of the Xiang Shu tradition.
